COMICOPOLIS ACADEMY - 2010 CLASS SCHEDULE

CARTOONING 201
August 4th through September 15th (no class Aug 25).

Jon “Bean” Hastings, creator of the Eisner-nominated Smith Brown Jones: Alien Accountant, the children’s book Terrabella Smoot and the Unsung Monsters and artist on Disney’s Haunted Mansion comics teaches you more cartooning tricks of the trade!

Topics include:

Creating character sheets
Using reference
Pattern and detail
Backgrounds
Lettering and sound effects
Working from scripts

ADVANCED CARTOONING
September 29th through November 3rd.

Topics include:

Putting it all together
Page and panel layout
Working from a comic book script
Perspective
Creating detail
Inking

All classes will be held Wednesday nights from 7:15pm-8:45pm at Comicopolis, 829 Front St. Santa Cruz.

Class size is limited to 12 students. Basic drawing materials will be provided, but students are encouraged to purchase sketchbooks and their own drawing implements. Ages 13 and up.

Tuition for each 6-week course is $80. Pre-registration is required. No drop ins.
